ABBRACCIANDOCI

Ci sono dei luoghi , in genere dai contorni naturali ben delimitati , dove aleggiano tranquilli spiriti benigni .

Una piccola baia , un bosco o - come in questo caso - una stretta valletta , caratterizzata da un dolce microclima , in una cornice di cascatelle e piante lussureggianti , in un coro di uccellini di molteplici speci .

Fu " amore-a-prima-vista" e di conseguenza dipinsi questa tela . Io , che raramente dipingo luoghi : qui piú che un posto si tratta di uno stato di spirito .

Si chiama CALDAS DE MONCHIQUE , villaggio di acque termali .

Poi la tela dipinta rimase arrotolata , con me per anni , finché ne capii il perché .

Domani inizia , proprio qui a Caldas , una mia Esposizione di pittura , a cui ho dato il titolo di questo quadro , che esporró per la prima volta dove si originó .

Tutto ha una logica , solo che difficilmente noi riusciamo a capirla , e solo nel momento opportuno ne afferriamo il significato .

There are places , usually defined by precise natural boundaries , where one can feel the presence of tranquil benign spirits .

A little bay , a woodland or - like in this case - a narrow valley , characterized by a mild microclimate , nestled among small waterfalls and luscious trees , and accompanied by thechorus of many different varieties of birds .

It was " love-at-first-sight " and , consequently , I painted this canvas .

Me that rarely paint specific landscapes : but here it's a matter of state of spirit , above all .

I'm talking about CALDAS DE MONCHIQUE , a Village appreciated for its Thermal Waters .

I stored the rolled painting for years , until I understood the reason of it .

Just in Caldas , tomorrow I will inaugurate one of my Exhibitions , entitled as that painting , which will be exposed for the first time in the same spot where it was originated .

Everything has a meaning , which we don't often understand , at least until the right moment brings an explication .
